Verizon Makes Fiber Optic Improvements in Delaware: [25th Oct 2009]

>>> Residents living in New Castle Delaware now have access to an all fiber optic network for their television entertainment. Verizon's award winning FiOS TV service is now available to more than 2000 households in the area offering 130 HD channels, video on demand and fast Internet speeds. A 12 year franchise has been approved and it has been agreed it will be available city wide within 5 years.


>>> KVH has this week announced a 44% increase in revenue compared to last year. During the same period last year the company had reported a net loss of $0.8m. Chief Executive, Martin Kits van Heyningen said that they enjoyed unprecedented growth and are realizing the benefits to be gained from fiber optics and maritime communications. The fiber optic business increased by an impressive 767% since last year.
